When you send tokens, interact with a smart contract, or do anything else on the blockchain, you must pay for the computation done to validate the action. The common term for the costs of the computations is "gas."
The gas charges for computations on OpenST side blockchains is very low: in OST KIT⍺, we estimate that 1 OST⍺ is enough to pay for about 1500 transactions. When minting your tokens for the first time, we recommend reserving 300 OST⍺ for gas, and a minimum of 100 OST⍺. That is enough for 150,000 to 450,000 transactions.
In OST KIT⍺ the company pays the gas for each transaction. In the future the company could also choose to have its customers pay for some of the gas.
Because the company pays the gas charges, we require you to set aside a small amount of OST⍺ to cover future transaction simulations.
